I was told my ECG was abnormal
Being told an ECG is abnormal is unsettling, and it is worth saying plainly that many ECG abnormalities are minor, long-standing, or normal variants for the person concerned.
An ECG is a ten-second electrical recording. It is very good at some things and blind to others, so an abnormal trace is a prompt to look further rather than a conclusion.
What happens next depends on which abnormality it is. Some point toward rhythm and are followed up with monitoring; some point toward structure and are followed up with imaging; some need nothing more than comparison with an older tracing.
